Open Beef Pot Pie

Another cool spring day. So, that makes a great day for some comfort food. My version of Beef Pot Pie. This was a first time recipe in our home. Two out of Three kids gave major approval. Child #3 ate a whole plate full and he doesn't normally eat a lot at one time. I guess this is a keeper.

Open Beef Pot Pie:
1lb. Beef Shaved Steak (Philly steak)
4 potatoes diced
1/2 onion sliced
2 cans beef broth
1/2 can tomato paste (small can)
1 can green beans
1 can carrots (or use fresh ones diced)
1 can corn
1 can crescent rolls
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/4 tsp. paprika
salt
pepper

Saute steak until browned. Remove steak. In same pot saute onions and potatoes until tender. Once tender add in the 2 cans of beef broth and the 1/2 can tomato paste. Let simmer 5 minutes. Add in Green beans, carrots (if using fresh then saute them with the potatoes and onions), and corn. Also add in the seasonings. Once combined add the steak. Simmer on medium for 10-15 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Empty contents of pot into a 9x13 inch dish. Top filling with crescent rolls in form of a sheet. Bake in the oven for approximately 15-20 minutes or until brown.
 Browned Steak
 Saute Onions and potatoes
 Everything simmering....
